Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services (PAALS)

The Summerville Oakbrook Rotary Club welcomed MeLisa Floryance, a client of PAALS and her wonderful Service Dog, Denny, to our meeting this morning. PAALS, formally the Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services, is an organization committed to training service animals to improve the lives of people in South Carolina. They spend nearly $40,000 to train each dog before it is placed with a client.

Service Dogs are different than comfort animals since they are protected under the American with Disabilities Act since they provide specific tasks to assist their owner.
